How to Use
How to Convert an Image to Another Format
Convert images in five simple steps. No software to install and no account to create.
- 1
Step 1: Upload Your Images
Drag and drop, tap Browse Files, or take a photo on your phone. Add up to 50 images of any supported format, up to 20 MB each.
- 2
Step 2: Choose the Output Format
Pick JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, or PDF in the Convert to menu. Only the options that matter for that format are shown.
- 3
Step 3: Adjust the Options
Set the quality, a background colour for transparent areas, icon sizes, or PDF page size, and decide whether to remove photo metadata.
- 4
Step 4: Convert
Press Convert. Each image is converted on your device, one after another, and you see the old and new file size for each one.
- 5
Step 5: Download
Download files one by one, or all at once as a ZIP. The original file names are kept with the new extension.

Why Choose Our Free Image Converter?
One private tool for every everyday image format, from iPhone photos to website images, icons, and PDFs.
10 Formats
Open JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and ICO, and save as JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, or PDF.
iPhone HEIC Photos
Turn HEIC photos from an iPhone or iPad into JPG or PNG that open everywhere, the right way up.
Batch Conversion

Images to PDF
Combine images into one PDF or make one PDF per image, with A4, Letter, or fit-to-image pages and margins.
Transparency Kept
PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and ICO keep see-through areas. JPG and BMP get the background colour you choose.
Private by Design
Images are converted in your browser and never uploaded. Photo metadata such as GPS location can be removed.
Quality Control
Choose the quality for JPG, WebP, and AVIF, and see how much smaller or larger each file becomes.
Free, No Watermark
No sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how often you convert.
One Converter for Every Image Format
Phones, cameras, websites, and design apps all use different image formats. Instead of a separate tool for every pair, ToolCube converts any supported format to any other in one place: open an iPhone HEIC and save a JPG, turn a logo PNG into an ICO favicon, or shrink a large PNG into a WebP for your website.
Fast and Safe on Your Own Device
The conversion runs in a background process inside your browser, so the page stays responsive even with large photos and long batches. Decoders for formats such as HEIC, AVIF, and TIFF load only when you need them, and nothing is ever sent to a server.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about converting images with ToolCube.
Is the Image Converter free?
Yes. The ToolCube Image Converter is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily limit.
Which formats can I convert?
You can open JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and ICO files, and save them as JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, or PDF. Any input format can be converted to any output format. The real format is detected from the file itself, so a file with the wrong extension still converts correctly.
Why can't I convert images to HEIC?
HEIC uses the HEVC video codec, which browsers can read with a decoder but cannot reliably write, and its patent licensing makes free encoders hard to offer. So HEIC is supported as an input only. If you need a small, modern format, choose AVIF or WebP, which are smaller than JPG and widely supported.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every image is decoded and converted inside your web browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to our servers or to any other service, so the converter also works for private photos and documents.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and ICO keep transparent areas. JPG and BMP cannot store transparency, so see-through areas are filled with the background colour you choose (white by default). In a PDF, transparent images are placed on a white page.
What about animated GIFs and multi-page TIFFs?
The converter makes still images. For animated GIF, WebP, PNG, or AVIF files, the first frame is converted, and for multi-page TIFF files, the first page is used. The file list tells you when this happens.
Does it remove EXIF data and GPS location?
Yes, by default. Remove metadata is turned on, so camera details, dates, and GPS location are not included in the new files. Photos are still turned the right way up. If you turn it off, metadata is copied from JPG, PNG, and WebP files into JPG, PNG, and WebP results.
How many images can I convert at once, and how large can they be?
You can add up to 50 images, each up to 20 MB. To keep your browser stable, images larger than 8000 pixels on the longest side (4096 pixels on phones) are scaled down, and the file list tells you when that happens.
Can I combine several images into one PDF?
Yes. Choose PDF, keep Combine all images into one PDF turned on, and every image becomes a page in one document, in the order they are listed. Turn it off to get a separate PDF for each image. You can choose Fit to image, A4, or Letter pages, the orientation, and a margin.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The converter works in modern browsers on Android, iPhone, and iPad. You can pick photos from your gallery or take a new one with the camera, then download the results directly to your device.
